Ok, so we are studying solutions in class.
3 major concepts you should learn is that if you :
1) add energy to something, it will usually dissolve faster- the particles move quickly and help spread out the solute.
2) crush things up-they dissolve faster too. More surface area!
3) Stir up a solute, it will dissolve more rapidly too,. If you stir things, the solute is more easily spread to be grabbed by the solvent and dissolved.
Well one student in middle school learned all this and did not just say, "OK, that's great... so what?" She used the lesson to take a year or two and develop a product that earned her $20,000 and a business- with ADULT INVESTORS! I love how she used science and her desire to help improve our world ! And 20K at age 16 is nothing to laugh at!
