SCIENCE IS EVERYWHERE.
Science plays an important part in our lives. This is an easily defended statement. However, I believe that in school, the subject is also intertwined within every other content area as well.
*For example, you have to know the HISTORY of what lead up to a scientific discovery. (Science has economic impacts. (Social studies)
*Science integrates so many mathematical concepts, I could go on for days. You need to analyze graphs, use proportional relationships, apply formulas, etc. (MATH)
*Science incorporates writing skills. Yes, one can perform a an experiment, but what value is it if he or she cannot communicate the results clearly? And countless novels have been based upon scientific information. (English Language Arts)
This year the Department of Education has made many changes that take our Standards and "cross cut" them with other content areas.
Use the links below to see what the current State Standards are in science and how they relate to other areas.
