We have been studying about life. Life is DIVERSE, and the diversity is based on the many different structures and characteristics living things have. Scientists classify life into groups called "KINGDOMS". Each Kingdom of Life has its own unique characteristics that make those living things special. |
Use the websites below to help you with the Seed Dispersal Day!

Use these links below to help you learn about the organelles of the cell and their functions.
Remember: each part of the cell is a part of the SYSTEM.
The part helps the SYSTEM do one of the characteristics of life.

All living things have a STRUCTURE to them. Their STRUCTURES determine their FUNCTION. So far, we have learned about the characteristics of life, and what determines whether a cell is an ORGANISM or not.
NOW we will build upon that knowledge by studying the complex structures of multi-cellular organisms.
-We are also learning about how these structures are arranged into levels: from least complex to more complex.
Key point: although all living things do the 8 characteristics of life, the more complex the structure it has, the more specialized its cells will be to do these processes.

So, it is time to practice and review what you have learned about LAB SAFETY procedures in Science Class! One way scientists determine if they will be successful at something is by using a MODEL or a SIMULATION of it. If you chose the CENTER SQUARE for your homework assignment, please click on the BUTTON BELOW. It will take you to a website that is a MODEL of proper safety procedures in a SCIENCE LAB.
Complete the interactive simulation and print out the certificate you earn after, or take a screen shot and sent it to me!
Good luck! Maxine will be your trusty lab partner to help you!
